Darren Bent has said on talkSPORT that he is confident that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants to sign departing Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

Pogba is leaving Manchester United as a free agent this summer, and talkSPORT pundit Bent believes that Liverpool manager Klopp has already spoken to the midfielder about a potential move to Anfield.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker has also said that he is confident that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola wants to sign Pogba as well.

Pogba has been linked with a move to Premier League champions Manchester City, but recent rumours suggest that the 29-year-old France international midfielder could return to Juventus.

Bent said about Pogba on talkSPORT, as transcribed by RousingTheKop: “You say Klopp and Pep wouldn’t touch him, I bet they’ve probably looked at the scenario and I bet they’ve had a conversation with him.

“You know what all great managers are like, they always think that even though that player has been a problem elsewhere, I can get the best out of him.

“I can guarantee you that Pep and Klopp think they can get the best out of any player on the planet.”

Could Paul Pogba join Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool?

In our view, it is unlikely that departing Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba will join Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

Pogba is a very good player who is World Cup winner, but his spell at Old Trafford has been mixed.

Liverpool and Manchester United are bitter rivals, and then there is also the small matter of the 29-year-old earning £290,000 (SalarySport) per week.

Would Pogba really join United’s bitter rivals Liverpool?

Would Liverpool be wiling to pay a 29-year-old almost £300,000 per week even if he came as a free agent?

We do not think so.
