Tottenham Hotspur loanee has not done his chances of coming back to play for the club any favours this week.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Nabil Bentaleb
Nabil Bentaleb was made surplus to requirements at Tottenham Hotspur last season and moved out on loan this summer to Schalke.
He has had a mixed time for the German side, who have just one league win, but a return to Tottenham always looked like a long shot.

The Algerian did himself no favours this week, when he criticised his former club – and even the fan base.
Speaking to SportBILD (as quoted by ESPN), Bentaleb said: “We fight and I believe that’s also the reason that the fans support us. I don’t know that from England. If you lose there, nobody supports you in the stadium.”
His comments prompted criticism from Spurs fans on social media, and it has not escaped Bentaleb himself.
The midfielder ‘liked’ a tweet from a Tottenham fan essentially all involved to simply move on.

Bentaleb does indeed seem happy in Germany, and is appreciating the opportunity to play regularly for another top European side.
The onus is on him to perform strongly enough to a point that Schalke are convinced he is worth the high price Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will no doubt demand for his services next summer.
