The Manchester United manager hasn’t held back in his criticism of certain players this season.

BBC pundit Chris Sutton slammed United boss Jose Mourinho for the manner in which he has publicly criticised his players this season, when speaking live on BBC Radio 5 Live on Wednesday May 3rd, suggesting that Portuguese’s actions will lead to trouble somewhere down the line.
The Red Devils manager has made unflattering remarks about Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones in particular this season, questioning their commitment to the cause by suggesting that they have been over-cautious when recovering from their respective injuries.
And Sutton explained why he feels Mourinho is playing a dangerous game with his approach to man management, when speaking live on BBC Radio 5 Live:

“To call them out for not playing through the pain barrier is deeply unfair. Managers I have played under would say things in the dressing room but back you in public. Mourinho just shoots from the hip. I think further down the line that leads to trouble.”
The former Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid boss has become renowned for his brash, no-nonsense approach to dealing with his players throughout his time in management.
One thing that cannot be questioned, however, is his record of winning major trophies, and if he can bring that kind of success to Old Trafford, United fans, along with the club’s hierarchy, will care little about the sometimes harsh treatment he gives his players.
