Speaking on Premier League Productions’ Weekend Preview, David James has been full of praise for Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson.
The midfielder may not be the flashiest player at Anfield, but James has been giving the England international credit for his leadership abilities and tactical understanding.
Indeed, James says that Henderson is so much more than just a footballer, stating that he’s almost like a manager on the pitch.
What’s been said?
James spoke about Henderson.
“I just think they have game controllers, he makes the right changes at the right time Jurgen Klopp. Like, if they need some control in the game he just sticks on Henderson. He sticks him on because he knows it’s like having a manager on the pitch, he starts barking orders and he starts putting people into their place, I think he’s got it down to a tee Jurgen,” Sherwood said.

Standard-setter
Henderson isn’t just one of the most vocal players at Liverpool, he’s one of the hardest-working as well.
Yes, he’s always telling his teammates what to do, but he also leads by example. It’s rare that you’ll see Henderson giving any less than 100 per cent, and he wants all of his teammates to play with the same level of intensity.
Henderson is Klopp’s most-trusted general, and while he may not be as brilliant as a Mo Salah or a Sadio Mane, make no mistake about it, he’s just as important as either of those players.
