Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur are now set to miss out on Owen Wijndal, who is reportedly on the verge of joining Ajax from AZ.
Well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Ajax have completed the signing of Wijndal from AZ.
The 22-year-old Netherlands international left-back will sign a contract with the Dutch giants unit June 2027 and will be announced soon as an Ajax player, according to Romano.
Tottenham have been linked with a move for Wijndal.

FootMercato reported in June that Tottenham were in talks with AZ over the transfer of the left-back in the summer transfer window.
The report in the French news outlet claimed interest from Ligue 1 club Lyon and Serie A outfit Juventus as well in Wijndal.
Tottenham Hotspur should continue to monitor Owen Wijndal
In our view, Tottenham Hotspur should continue to monitor Owen Wijndal even if he joins Ajax.
The Dutchman is only 22, and it is unlikely that he will be at Ajax forever.
Antonio Conte has signed Ivan Perisic, but the Croatia international is 33 now.
Wijndal could improve and develop his game further at Ajax, and maybe in one or two years’ time, Tottenham could be able to sign him.
The youngster scored one goal and gave 10 assists in 31 Eredivisie games for AZ last season.
