Dominic Solanke rejected Celtic’s advances to move to Liverpool last summer, but his opportunities have been limited at Anfield.

Dominic Solanke can be forgiven for believing he had made the correct move in choosing to move to Liverpool from Chelsea last summer.
Jurgen Klopp has a solid history of promoting young talent and granting them first-team chances, including the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ben Woodburn and Ovie Ejaria at Liverpool.
Unfortunately for Solanke, the form of front three Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino alongside the return of Danny Ings has left him struggling for opportunities.

The 20-year-old has made it onto the pitch on 30 occasions for the Reds, although just four of those have been starts and his minutes in action total just 500 across four competitions.
Solanke took his chance on international duty on Tuesday evening, scoring a late winner for England under-21s in their crucial match against Ukraine under-21s and perhaps reminding many of what he is capable of.

Given that Celtic were extremely keen to sign Solanke last summer, with Brendan Rodgers placing him high on his wish list, it would be no surprise if the Bhoys made a move to draft him in this summer.
The striker told the Liverpool Echo in October: “You’ve just got to keep working hard. There could be an injury or injuries and you can go from a low spot to a high spot very quickly, so however your opportunity comes you’ve just got to try to take it.”
However, Solanke has featured for just 113 minutes of first-team football since the turn of the year and an opportunity to feature regularly for the Scottish champions, along with Champions League football, may be too good to pass up.

The Hoops are braced for summer interest for Moussa Dembele and loanee Odsonne Edouard is set to return to parent club Paris Saint-Germain with his future unknown, meaning a first-team breakthrough is certainly possible.
