Speaking on The Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has shared how Antonio Conte feels about Dele Alli after taking over at Tottenham.
Conte is the new Spurs boss and he needs to have a real look at his squad before deciding what to do going forward.
Spurs have plenty of talented players, but unfortunately, they’ve underperformed for far too long now.
One player who hasn’t been at his best in recent years is Alli, and Conte has made it his personal mission to change the 25-year-old’s mentality.
What’s been said?
Romano shared Conte’s plan with Alli.
“Antonio Conte’s mission to start this new era is to give value to the players that are in this team. Ndombele, Dele Alli and many others. He wants to see if these players are available for his project or if he needs to change. He wants to give opportunities to these players. I mention Alli because he’s one of the players that Antonio Conte wants to change his mentality in the coming weeks,” Romano said.

If anyone can do it
Alli is an absolute enigma and while we know there’s a talented player in there somewhere, even the greatest minds in football haven’t been able to unlock his potential.
Alli’s malaise started under Mauricio Pochettino, while Jose Mourinho, Ryan Mason and Nuno Espirito Santo have all failed to get him back to his best.
Conte has a knack of polishing these gems and getting the best out of players who have been written off, just look at the work he did with Romelu Lukaku at Inter or Victor Moses at Chelsea.
If anyone is going to get Alli back to his best, it’s Conte.
