As far as loans go, they don’t get much better than Tottenham Hotspur’s decision to let Oliver Skipp join Norwich City.
Skipp signed for the Canaries on a season-long loan last term and played a huge role in helping City win Premier League promotion from the Championship.
The 20-year-old, who had 15 Premier League appearances under his belt for Tottenham prior to leaving, has sharpened his tools in a major way during his year in the Championship and will return to North London a much more rounded player.
On Thursday it was announced that the youngster had made the Team of the Season in the second tier.
And here’s how some Spurs fans reacted to the news on Twitter:
Conte incoming?
Speculation is rife that Tottenham will be hiring a certain Antonio Conte to replace Jose Mourinho very soon.
If and when it happens, it’s a huge coup for the Lilywhites and a lot of players will be buoyed by it – including Skipp.
This pre-season will mean that every player at Hotspur Way has a clean slate, a fresh chance to impress the Italian coach.
And going by his performances in the Championship, Skipp may feel confident that he can endear himself to the former Chelsea boss.
