The 30-year-old South Korea international forward came on as a substitute in the second half.

Antonio Conte on Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min

The Tottenham boss said: “I am really happy for Sonny today, you know what I think of the player.

“I said to him if you’re going to score three goals in 30 minutes maybe we can repeat this experiment, but I was joking.”

What a response!

Son Heung-min has not been in great form for Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Until now.

Conte was right in dropping Son from the starting lineup against Leicester.

After all, the South Korea international forward had not been producing.

And Conte now has options in attack.

Son gave the perfect response to being dropped.

And now that he has scored a hat-trick, Son is pretty much guaranteed a place in the Tottenham starting lineup against Arsenal in the North London derby after the international break.
