Antonio Conte is reportedly eager to sign Juventus attacker Federico Chiesa for Tottenham, with the Italian international previously linked to Liverpool before his ten-month-long injury.

According to CalcioMercatoWeb, Conte is keen to bring Chiesa to north London as one of his first major signings after penning a new contract with Tottenham, with the Spurs board seemingly ready to back the former Inter Milan manager heavily in upcoming transfer windows.

As per the report, Conte is ‘dreaming’ of signing Chiesa, though it will take some undertaking to secure the Juventus star’s signature, with the Old Lady eager to receive either a massive transfer fee or a player in return, with Richarlison and Heung-min Son being noted as potential options.

Chiesa has only made his return to football just before the 2022 FIFA World Cup break after the winger suffered an ACL injury at the start of the year, with the forward making his comeback to the pitch against PSG in the UEFA Champions League.

With a reported price tag of €120m (£107m), Chiesa is viewed by Juventus as one of the biggest assets, one that Liverpool have had a long-standing interest in according to La Repubblica. And now, Tottenham have joined the fray for the 25-year-old.

Indeed, Chiesa would be quite the superstar signing, with the Italian one of the best attackers in Serie A and a player who could thrive under Conte’s managership at Tottenham. However, the north London side actually signing the winger feels like a fantasy more than anything.

Tottenham simply won’t sign Chiesa due to logistics

As mentioned by CalcioMercatoWeb, it will take an incredible effort from Tottenham to pull off the signing of Chiesa, with Juventus viewing the former ACF Fiorentina star as one of their most important players and someone they won’t allow to leave that easily.

Moreover, the player himself might not be sold on a move to Tottenham, even with Juventus enduring as rough a season as they under Massimiliano Allegri, with Conte’s side hardly an upgrade on the Italian giants for the Azzurri forward.
