Antonio Conte has intimated that Sergio Reguilon probably won’t be playing again for Tottenham Hotspur this season.
A groin problem has sidelined the Spain international for a number of weeks now.
Ryan Sessegnon has been impressing for Tottenham at left-back in Reguilon’s absence.
Spurs have a massive Premier League encounter with Arsenal in North London tomorrow night to potentially decide Champions League qualification.
And not only is Reguilon not available to face the Gunners, but Conte has suggested he won’t be around until next season.
He told Football London: “Reguilon is not available and I don’t think he can recover. There is only 10 days to go. Only the same players as Liverpool.”
Reguilon, signed by Jose Mourinho, is a good player but Tottenham supporters won’t be overly disappointed to be missing him.
That’s because Sessegnon, as mentioned, has been absolutely brilliant under Conte since his Spanish teammate has been sidelined and there’s every chance the former Fulham prospect could help the Lilywhites to North London derby triumph over Arsenal on Thursday, given the way that he’s been playing as of late.
Conte’s side have to win to keep alive their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League and the way Sessegnon has been playing, well don’t hold it against Spurs fans if they’d rather see the Englishman in that starting XI anyway instead of Reguilon.
