Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media have been raving over Harry Winks’ performance against Vitesse on Thursday evening.
The midfielder has been out of favour and out of form for some time at Spurs, but this is the dawning of a new era and every player has clean slate.
Winks came on off the bench on Thursday, and it’s fair to say he impressed the fans.
Far too often, Winks has been criticised for playing safe passes and not looking to create anything from midfield, but against Vitesse, he looked re-invigorated, carrying the ball forward and trying to make things happen.
Spurs fans have been raving over Winks’ performance, and one supporter even went as far as to compare him to Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta.
If the midfielder can keep up this level of performance, it may just be a matter of time before he’s back in the starting XI and back in the England squad.
