It was a stunning week for Tottenham Hotspur.

Antonio Conte’s outfit scored two stoppage-time goals through Steven Bergwijn on Wednesday as Tottenham won 3-2 away to Leicester City.

As far as drama goes, that encounter at the King Power Stadium might not be beaten this season.

However, a much more difficult test awaits Spurs this weekend.

On Sunday, the Lilywhites are gearing up to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge for the third time in January.

The Blues coasted to victory during the other two fixtures this year – a League Cup semi-final tie – but Conte has revealed some brilliant news ahead of the Premier League date.

Eric Dier has been a monstrous figure for Tottenham under the Italian manager.

In terms of consistency, you might even argue that he’s been the North Londoners’ best player.

But the 28-year-old has been out injured since the victory at Watford on New Year’s Day, though Conte has confirmed that he’s available for selection in West London.

He told The Athletic: “Eric Dier had a good training session for us and is available.”

Boost?

In a word, absolutely.

Without Dier, Conte’s troops have conceded seven goals in four games.

Prior to that, they’d shipped seven goals since the legendary Italian manager arrived at Tottenham in early November.

That right there illustrates the England international’s growing importance at Spurs and there’s no doubt that victory is more likely with him on Sunday than without him.
