Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has told the club’s official website that Dejan Kulusevski said to him that he could play the final 20 or 30 minutes against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

Conte has said that he asked Kulusevski before the match against Liverpool whether he would be able to play.

The 22-year-old Sweden international winger, currently on loan from Juventus, told the former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss that he could manage the last 20 or 30 minutes of the Premier League match against Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Kulusevski has been suffering with a muscle problem and had only resumed full training in recent days.

The winger came on as a substitute in the second half against Liverpool.

Liverpool won the Premier League match against Tottenham 2-1 in North London.

Antonio Conte on Dejan Kulusevski for Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool

Conte said: “It was good to see Deki back, yes, finally. It was important, good news. Deki only had a full training session with us yesterday.

“Today, he said to me, ‘okay, coach, for the last 20, 30 minutes, I’m available’. At the end, my first question (to him) was, ‘is everything okay?’ and he told me, ‘yes’.”

Important player for Spurs

In our view, Dejan Kulusevski is one of the best and most important players for Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs played better and were more threatening against Liverpool after the winger came on.

In fact, it was Kulusevski who provided the assist for Harry Kane’s goal for Tottenham in the 70th minute.

It is very good news for Tottenham that Kulusevski is now back from injury.
