Antonio Conte has admitted that he was impressed by Tottenham Hotspur’s Pape Matar Sarr on Wednesday.
Spurs warmed up for their Premier League return with a visit of Nice to North London, which ended 1-1.
Sarr came on for the second half, replacing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg at the break.
And the Tottenham boss has admitted that the 20-year-old did some good things, claiming that he likes him a lot.
He told the club’s official website: “Sarr, I liked him a lot with the way he got into the pitch.”

It’ll be interesting to see if Sarr’s performance makes the Tottenham boss use him in any competitive outings during the second half of the campaign.
The Senegalese starlet, a £14.5 million signing by Fabio Paratici in 2021 [Daily Mail], hasn’t kicked a ball in a competitive game for Tottenham under Conte yet this season.
He has been named on the bench quite a few times, but the Italian manager is yet to pull the trigger and introduce him.
Having said that, and with that in mind, it seems logical for a loan to be on the agenda.
And honestly, why not?
At 20, these are vital developmental years for Sarr and the quicker he’s back to playing football every week, the much better it’ll be for him long term.
