Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has said that former Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard has been in touch following his move to Aston Villa, as quoted in The Times.
Van Bronckhorst was recently appointed as the Rangers manager.
The Dutchman replaced Steven Gerrard at Ibrox.
Former Liverpool midfielder Gerard stepped down from his managerial role at Rangers to take over at Villa.
The Englishman is getting paid £5 million per year as salary at the Premier League (The Telegraph).
Van Bronckhorst has said that Gerrard has already been in touch with him, and that he will speak to him in the next few weeks as well.

The Rangers boss said, as quoted in The Times: “He sent me a message by email which was really nice. I think we will definitely be in contact in the coming weeks to talk about stuff.
“He did a really great job at Rangers and has now moved to the Premier League with Aston Villa. I personally wish him all the best and I’m sure there will be some contact in the next few weeks.”
Carrying on Steven Gerrard’s good work
Gerrard’s departure may have left some Rangers fans disappointed, but we cannot ignore the good work that he did.
Under the Englishman, Rangers won the Scottish Premiership title last season.
The Gers are also at the top of the league table at the moment.
Gerrard made Rangers competitive again, and it is up to Van Bronckhorst to continue that good work.
In our view, the Dutchman will do a great job at Rangers.
The former Arsenal star was a player at Rangers and won the Eredivisie with Feyenoord as a manager.
