Danny Higginbotham has hailed Leeds United manager Garry Monk after the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.
Leeds United drew 1-1 at Aston Villa on Thursday evening, prompting praise for manager Garry Monk and coach James Beattie from pundit Danny Higginbotham.
The Whites travelled to Villa Park off the back of a 4-1 win at Preston North End on Boxing Day, and having beaten Villa 2-0 at Elland Road earlier this season, they were searching for another win.

Defender Pontus Jansson gave them the lead shortly after half time as he headed Stuart Dallas’ corner into the net, and the Swede almost made it 2-0 just moments later as he volleyed against the crossbar from another corner.
Leeds were made to pay for the missed chances, as Liam Cooper’s handball gave Villa the chance to score from the penalty spot in the dying stages of the game, and Jonathan Kodjia converted to rescue a point for Villa.

The result keeps Leeds in the hunt for a play-off place, and continued the fine recent form for Garry Monk’s side, as it’s now just five points dropped in the last seven games.
After the final whistle at Villa Park, Sky Sports pundit Danny Higginbotham took to Twitter to offer his reaction to the game, admitting that it was a great match between two of the biggest clubs in the Championship.
Higginbotham praised Leeds boss Monk and coach James Beattie for a ‘first class job’ at Elland Road so far, as they’ve turned the club from a perennial midtable side into play-off candidates.
Higginbotham added that Leeds are making ‘constant progression’ under Monk, as the former Swansea boss continues to make fans based on his work at Elland Road.
