Red Bull Leipzig have been linked with Celtic’s Moussa Dembele. The biggest beneficiaries? Glasgow Rangers…
Could an innocuous transfer rumour have huge repercussions for Scottish football and be part of a larger plot?
That is one possible conspiracy behind Celtic striker Moussa Dembele being a reported transfer target for Red Bull Leipzig by the Scottish Sun – as rivals Rangers would be the big winners.
This would be the case with any transfer moving Dembele away from Celtic, but the destination is interesting bearing in mind links between Red Bull Leipzig and Rangers.

The two sides play a friendly in January, with Bundesliga leaders Leipzig making waves in German football.
They are backed by soft drinks giant Red Bull, and just last month there was growing speculation Rangers could be the next club they decide ton invest in.
The Scottish Sun reported just last week that Red Bull had been linked with taking over the Light Blues – and fans were split on whether they wanted the new buyers at Ibrox.
Divided opinion would quickly sway to positive if Red Bull make a move to take Celtic’s best player away from them.
Dembele has four goals to his name in two matches against Rangers already, and Mark Warburton’s side would surely love to see the back of him already.

Celtic would net a substantial fee for Dembele, but as manager Brendan Rodgers learned at Liverpool with Luis Suarez – it is far better to have the player than the money.
Dembele would be a superb acquisition by Red Bull Leipzig, who have made a point to build their team around a core of young talents.
At the same time Red Bull would make their own lives easier at Rangers if they take over – by weakening their biggest rival.
