Queens Park Rangers will face Leeds United on the opening day of the 2016-17 Championship season.

Queens Park Rangers striker Conor Washington has told the club’s official website that his side can win against Leeds United on the opening day of the new season.
QPR will take on Leeds at Loftus Road in their opening game of the 2016-17 Championship campaign.
“Leeds at home is a great fixture to start our season and we can really put a marker down about how we want our season to go with a good performance there,” Washington told QPR’s official website.

QPR endured a disappointing season in 2015-16 and failed to finish in the top 10 of the Championship.
Rangers are unlikely to be able to compete for a top-two spot in the Championship next season, but they should be targeting the playoffs.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is a very good manager, and if he is able to make a few good signings in the summer transfer window, then he should be able to at least make the team competitive enough for a top-six challenge.

Leeds will also be aiming to finish in the top six of the Championship next season.
The West Yorkshire outfit have a new head coach in charge, Garry Monk, who is also a brilliant manager.
Washington, who is 24 years of age, created nine chances in 15 Championship appearances for QPR during the 2015-16 season following his move from Peterborough United in the January transfer window.
