Queens Park Rangers striker Conor Washington has scored four goals in his last nine matches.
Conor Washington has admitted in the Daily Telegraph that he doesn’t know if he would still be at Queens Park Rangers if Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was kept in charge.
Washington struggled at QPR during Hasselbaink’s time at the helm, as he was regularly utilised in unfamiliar positions.
The Northern Ireland international had been brought to QPR as an out-an-out striker, but was often used out wide at Loftus Road by Hasselbaink.
Washington’s form suffered as a result, and he struggled badly to find his net over his first year at Loftus Road.
The 24-year-old admits he could even have left QPR, if things had continued the way they were under Hasselbaink, last January.
“I’m honestly not sure [if I would still be at QPR if Hasselbaink had stayed],” the striker said. “I probably wouldn’t have been in the form I have and feeling like I do now.”
Since Ian Holloway has become Rangers boss, Washington has been a player reborn.
The rapid striker has shown his class, and managed to notch four goals in his last nine appearances.
Washington’s partnership with Matt Smith has shown great signs of promise, as QPR have picked up some very positive results.
Rangers have won five of their last seven matches to move up into 15th place in the Championship table.
