Conor Shaughnessy has taken to social media to comment after extending his Leeds United contract until 2021.

Conor Shaughnessy has taken to Twitter to express his delight after Leeds confirmed on their official website that the youngster has signed a new contract at Elland Road.
Shaughnessy went into this season having not made his professional debut having only arrived at Leeds in 2016 following his departure from Reading after four years with the Royals.

However, Thomas Christiansen has shown a significant amount of faith in the 21-year-old by seemingly making him the side’s fourth choice centre-back – he came through the ranks at Reading as a midfielder – rather than looking to sign another defender during the summer window.

And following the news, the Irishman took to social media to comment on the deal and the direction the club appears to be heading in.
As the club confirm, Shaughnessy is the latest of many first-team players to commit their futures to the Whites in recent times by signing contract extensions – and so it is not surprising that the defender is optimistic about the future.
Christiansen, Victor Orta and Andrea Radrizzani appear to have built a team and club with very bright prospects, and to potential targets, that must surely make moving to Leeds a much more attractive option than when they appeared to be a club synonymous with chaos.
