This promises to be a big summer of change at Celtic, and one of the few ways it could get more chaotic is if Conor McGregor suddenly entered the picture.
The Bhoys need a new manager and a new director football, as well as a squad overhaul after losing the Scottish Premiership title to Rangers.
Oh, and Peter Lawwell is leaving his post as chief executive. Dermot Desmond may have dig deep into his pockets to help Celtic this summer.
Now though, UFC mega-star McGregor has claimed on Twitter that he has – at some stage – had conversations over buying shares in Celtic from Desmond.
McGregor is confident that he could do great things for a football club, admitting that he likes Celtic and Manchester United as potential destinations.
McGregor has some affinity to Celtic
The Irishman claims to support United, but there is a link to Celtic. In 2018, he posted a photo of himself in training whilst wearing a Celtic shirt, offering a ‘shout out’ to the Bhoys.
McGregor also appears to have a friendship with ex-Celtic ace Kieran Tierney, posing with him in 2019 and even admitting that Tierney is his favourite footballer.

What is McGregor’s net worth?
The Mirror estimate McGregor’s net worth to be around £300million.
That’s with fight money, sponsorships and the success of his whiskey brand ‘Proper Twelve’.
McGregor’s current net worth is certainly enough to buy shares in Celtic, but not enough to buy the club outright.
Maybe McGregor comes on board one day, but with so much to do this summer, this may be one PR move the Bhoys don’t need right now.
