Aston Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane has taken to Twitter to express his excitement at the club’s upcoming match against Bolton Wanderers.

Steve Bruce’s side have been in fine form in recent weeks, winning three Championship matches in succession to put their early-season woes behind them and climb up to eighth in the table, just two points outside the play-off places.

Next up is a match against the Trotters and Hourihane for one cannot wait to get playing back in front of his own fans.

“Looking forward to getting back to Villa Park on Saturday,” the midfielder wrote. “(We) need to keep this run going.”

The 26-year-old has been an integral player for Villa this season, scoring five goals in nine appearances, including a hat-trick against Norwich City and a key strike against Nottingham forest earlier this month.

After defeating Forest, Barnsley and Burton Albion in their last three league games, Villa will be quietly confident of making it four in a row against a Bolton side rooted to the bottom of the table wit just two points from their first 10 matches.

That said, Bruce will be taking nothing for granted and will instil that in his players ahead of the clash.

After Hourihane’s message, a number of Villa fans responded and you can see a selection of those replies below:
