After such an impressive summer transfer window, Dougie Freedman now has his work cut out to make this Crystal Palace side even better.

The signings of Joachim Andersen, Marc Guèhi, Michael Olise, Odsonne Edouard and Will Hughes were masterstrokes by the Eagles.

Now, with question marks over the right-back department, and also in goal to some extent, some new faces are expected at Selhurst Park.

So, let’s take a look at how Crystal Palace could line up next season if Freedman secures the signatures of these five rumoured targets…

Incoming transfers at Crystal Palace?

According to 90min, the south Londoners are interested in signing West Brom glovesman Sam Johnstone this summer.

The England international is in Patrick Vieira’s sights, as Vicente Guaita and Jack Butland have shared goalkeeping duties so far this season – it seems an outright No.1 is wanted in SE25.

Elsewhere, Montpellier right-back Junior Sambia is said to be a target, with the Frenchman available on a free transfer this summer.

Joel Ward and Nathaniel Clyne – similarly to Guaita and Butland in goal – have shared the right-back role this term, so an outstanding option is seemingly desired.

In midfield, Crystal Palace appear to be searching for some Cheikhou Kouyate cover, with Ajax’s defensive midfield lynchpin Edson Alvarez wanted.

Additionally, we believe the Eagles have a chance of signing Conor Gallagher on another loan deal, even if it feels unrealistic at the moment.

Guèhi – his close friend – has already told him to join, and with the World Cup on the horizon, Gallagher surely wouldn’t want to ruin his chances of making the England squad.

Lastly, Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah becomes a free agent this summer, and The Times believe Crystal Palace will be interested, having submitted a bid in the summer.

If Freedman can get some of these deals over the line, the south Londoners would be set for an even more exciting 2022/23 campaign.
