The West Ham midfielder has produced some encouraging displays this season.
West Ham United’s academy still has a good reputation and midfielder Conor Coventry is hoping to be one of the next players off the production line.
A Republic of Ireland youth international, Coventry broke into West Ham’s U23 side last season, scoring on his debut against Fulham, and has since established himself as a regular at that level.
Excellent at breaking up play and distributing the ball, the 17-year-old is a fine prospect and will hope to edge closer to the first-team squad.
Although he is impressive defensively, Coventry also likes to make a contribution in an attacking sense and is highly regarded by West Ham, who awarded him with his first professional contract last season.
Domingos Quina has featured for the West Ham first-team this season and Coventry will be aware that if he can continue to impress at youth level then he will also get opportunities in due course.
Still eligible to play for West Ham’s U18 side, Coventry has also featured in the EFL Trophy this season and provided an assist in the 3-1 victory away to Bristol Rovers.
It is anticipated that the prospect will continue to receive much game time at U23 level in the second half of the campaign.
