Wolverhampton Wanderers have told Tottenham Hotspur head coach Nuno that they will not sell him Conor Coady, according to 90min.
It is being reported today that Nuno wants to sign Coady for his new club Tottenham from his former side Wolves.
The Portuguese boss had been hoping that Spurs could make a move for the England international central defender.
However, Wolves have ‘made it clear’ to Nuno that they will not sell Coady at any price.
The England international defender himself is happy to stay at Wolves and is not pushing for a move.
Sensible stance
It is very sensible of Wolves to keep hold of Coady.
Or at least try to.
Of course, every player has his price, but Coady is a big player in the team.
The defender has improved and progressed a lot over the years and was part of the England squad that reached the Euro 2020 final this summer.
Coady is a leader for Wolves, who need to keep hold of him.
The Wolves no.16 has played 114 times in the Premier League so far in his career.
At 28, Coady is at the top of his game and at his peak.
You can understand why Tottenham head coach Nuno wants him.
After all, the Portuguese worked with the defender for a number of years and knows what he can do.
However, for Wolves, it is good that they do not plan to sell the defender this summer.
