The Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper has proven to be an excellent addition for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this season.

Wolves skipper Conor Coady spoke to reporters after his side’s superb 2-1 win over Manchester United last night, and took time to praise the performance of Rui Patricio, labelling the Portuguese stopper as ‘world class’, as quoted by the club’s official website.

The Black Country outfit strengthened their stranglehold on seventh spot in the Premier League table after last night’s victory, and they now sit one point clear of Javi Gracia’s eighth placed Watford side.

One of Wolves’ standout performers this season has been Patricio, who moved to Molineux from Sporting Lisbon for around £15 million in the summer of 2018, according to Sky Sports.

The 31-year-old has kept six clean sheets in 31 Premier League outings thus far, and has conceded just 39 goals in those games.

And Coady raved about Patricio, when speaking to reporters after last night’s win over United, suggesting that the goalkeeper has been fantastic this season, as quoted by the club’s official website:

“It helps when you have a world class keeper in goal who can make great saves like Rui did tonight. He’s been fantastic for us all season and he’s shown again tonight why he’s so good.”

Next up for Wolves is their FA Cup semi-final clash with Watford on Sunday, and they will need Patricio to be on his very best form, if they are to have any chance of progressing through to the final of the competition.
