Everton have not had Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall available for their last six Premier League fixtures.

The £28m signing from Chelsea got off to a strong start at Goodison Park, scoring four goals and adding three assists across 15 appearances, which put him in early contention for the club’s Player of the Season honours.

He has been out with a hamstring issue for over a month, but an encouraging update on social media suggests he may soon be back in action.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall shared a series of photos on Instagram from his recovery process at Finch Farm, including shots in the sauna and boxing, as well as a few meals. The post ended with a caption that read: “But now let’s get back to the real work.”

That final line strongly hints that Dewsbury-Hall is ready to rejoin full training with Everton, looking ahead to a return to Premier League action.

Conor Coady was one of several people to respond and seemed genuinely surprised by one particular photo – Seamus Coleman taking a selfie.

Coleman, now 37, has become the elder statesman in the Everton dressing room, and it seems Coady found it pretty amusing to see him getting involved like that.

The former Everton defender commented: “Boxing with no top on and posting is a red card but seeing Seamus take a selfie is sensational.”

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall hit by fresh injury blow as Everton return nears

Dewsbury-Hall’s comeback coincides with bad news for the club, as Jack Grealish is expected to be out for three months after picking up a foot injury.

Since both players joined Everton last summer, they have developed a close friendship that has translated well on the pitch.

Now 27, Dewsbury-Hall will have to wait longer before he can play alongside Grealish again, taking some of the shine off his own recovery from a hamstring problem.
