Conor Coady has been hugely impressed with the way that Jonny Otto has settled into life with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In comments reported by the Express and Star, Conor Coady has suggested that Jonny has been fantastic since arriving at Wolves in the summer, and insisted that he deserved his goal at the weekend.

Jonny was perhaps one of the more surprising signings of the summer. Wolves’ deal for Barry Douglas one year ago looked inspired, so the decision to sell the Scotsman just after signing the Spaniard on loan appeared to be a gamble from Nuno Espirito Santo’s men.

But the early signs suggest that the gamble is paying off superbly. Jonny has been a key man during the opening weeks of the season and really helped Wolves make a very bright start to life back in the top flight.

And Coady lauded the impact that the summer signing has made since arriving at Molineux, suggesting that he has been particularly impressed by the way that he has adapted to his role on the left.

“He’s brilliant, isn’t he?” Coady said, as reported by the Express and Star. “And for a right footer playing on the left, it’s fantastic. You know that as an ‘out ball’ he will always be there.

“I’m made up for him to score his goal because he works so hard in training and on the pitch, so he deserves his goal and he took it really well. His English is top drawer and he always understands. He says ‘yeah’ a lot of the time! But his English is good and he deserved his goal.”

It has been a fantastic start to the season for Wolves. They sit ninth in the table and have picked up some hugely impressive results already, including draws with both Manchester clubs.

There were plenty who considered Wolves to be real dark horses to push for top spot in the ‘best of the rest table’ that usually forms behind the top six in the Premier League table. And based on their start, it would appear that they stand a fantastic chance of living up to those more ambitious expectations.
