In comments reported by the Express and Star, Conor Coady has suggested ahead of Wolves’ trip to Elland Road on Wednesday night that Leeds are a massive club and that the decision to appoint Paul Heckingbottom has helped the Whites.

Despite Heckingbottom’s side having home advantage, it is likely that most Leeds fans will go into the clash between the two sides expecting a huge uphill task trying to get a positive result, with Wolves well out in front at the top of the table and the Whites going into the game off the back of a 3-0 thrashing at Middlesbrough last time out.

But while Leeds may well be the underdogs, Coady insisted that Wolves – who won the previous meeting 4-1 at Molineux earlier in the campaign – will not be taking their opponents lightly.

“There are some great teams within this division, everybody is beating everybody. We’re just focused on what we’ve got to do on Wednesday night – we go into every single game wanting to get three points and that’s no different tomorrow,” he said, as reported by the Express and Star.

“Leeds are a massive, massive club and they’ve had a management change in the last couple of weeks which has helped them.”

What will give Leeds plenty of belief heading into the game is the fact that Nuno Espirito Santo’s men do not go into the contest off the back of the best run of form despite the fact that they have been out in front for much of the campaign.

Wolves drew against Preston North End and Norwich City before losing to Fulham at the weekend and that should give Leeds some hope that if they can keep things tight at the back, they may be able to spring a surprise and potentially move themselves back onto the periphery of the play-off discussion.

But with 13 goals conceded in their last six games, keeping things tight at the back against a team seemingly destined for the top flight this summer will be a lot easier said than done for Heckingbottom’s men.
