Connor Goldson wants Ryan Kent stay at Rangers

Ryan Kent is on loan at Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers from Liverpool.

Rangers central defender Connor Goldson has told The Scottish Sun that he wants Liverpool-owned winger Ryan Kent at Ibrox next season.

Kent joined Rangers on a season-long loan deal from Premier League club Liverpool in the summer of 2018.

According to WhoScored, the 22-year-old has made 21 starts and two substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers so far this season, scoring six goals in the process.

The former England Under-20 international has established himself in manager Steven Gerrard’s team and is playing well at the moment, and his Rangers teammate Goldson – who joined the Gers from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer of 2018 for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £3 million – hopes that Kent stays at Ibrox next season as well.

Goldson told The Scottish Sun: “We’d definitely like Ryan Kent to stay as well.”

Rangers stay

Despite Kent’s talent and obvious progress at Rangers this season, it is going to be hard for the winger to break into Liverpool’s first team during the 2019-20 campaign.

It will make sense for the youngster to stay at Rangers next season, and continue his progress and development as a footballer.
