Report: ‘Absolutely immense’ Rangers player finally makes decision on his Ibrox future

Rangers central defender Connor Goldson will sign a new contract with the Ibrox club, according to The Daily Record.

What’s the story?

The Daily Record are reporting that Rangers defender Goldson has agreed to extend his stay at Ibrox by three years.

Goldson and his representatives have been locked in discussions for days with Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson.

A decision has finally been made.

The 28-year-old central defender – described as “absolutely immense” and “an absolute mountain” by Rangers manager Steven Gerrard in The Scottish Sun in February 2021 – will put pen to paper on a new deal.

Goldson will become one of the biggest earners at Rangers.

An announcement of the deal will be made in the coming days.

Goldson scored four goals and gave two assists in 33 Scottish Premiership games for Rangers last season

The defender also scored one goal in 10 Europa League matches.
