Glasgow Rangers pair Glenn Middleton and Kyle Lafferty seemed to change the game when they came on for the Ibrox side at the weekend.

Connor Goldson has told Rangers’ official Twitter account that both Glenn Middleton and Kyle Lafferty were superb when they came on in the Gers’ win at the weekend, hinting that the pair changed the game.
Steven Gerrard’s men closed the gap at the top of the table to one point after an excellent second-half fightback at St Johnstone. They went into the break a goal down and had played poorly for the majority of the first 45 minutes at McDiarmid Park.
Alfredo Morelos was the hero as he scored twice after the break, including an 88th minute winner. But Goldson suggested that the half-time introduction of Middleton and Lafferty coming on around 10 minutes after the break was crucial to Rangers turning the game around.
Lafferty arguably put in one of his best performances since returning to Ibrox in the summer. He caused all sorts of problems and won the header that allowed James Tavernier to cross the ball into the box for Morelos’ second goal.

Middleton meanwhile, produced a moment of outstanding quality for the equaliser. He looped a brilliant ball into the six-yard box, right between the two centre-backs and curling away from the goalkeeper to find Morelos.
Rangers’ form may not have been the most impressive heading into a couple of big games before the winter break. But they have still taken seven points from a possible nine in their last three fixtures, and Sunday’s win showed that they do have the depth to bring game-changing options off the bench when required.
