Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers have brought Connor Goldson to Ibrox.

Among the players Rangers have signed so far this summer is Connor Goldson, wth the Ibrox club having paid Brighton and Hove Albion a transfer fee of £3 million, according to The Daily Record, in order to make him part of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard’s team.
Goldson was on the books of Brighton for three years from the summer of 2015 until the end of the 2017-18 season.
The 25-year-old central defender has experience of playing in the Championship and in the Premier League in England.
Rangers fans will be hoping that the centre-back plays an important role in Gerrard’s team next season, and Shrewsbury Town CEO Brian Caldwell has backed him for success, with Goldson having started his professional club football career at The Shrews.

Caldwell told Shrewsbury’s official website: “It’s a great opportunity for him. I know the Scottish league well, Rangers are a massive club and it’s a great opportunity for him to go and play.
“I think he will play every week there. He’s been hampered a little bit through his illness and injury as well. Rangers are a massive club and it’s a massive move for him.”

Competing with Celtic
Goldson will be expected to establish himself in the first team at Rangers right from the start.
The Gers finished third in the Scottish Premiership this past season, and the Ibrox club will be aiming to at least give Old Firm rivals Celtic a run for their money.
