Isaac Hayden has offered his congratulations to Emil Krafth on Instagram after he signed a new contract at Newcastle United.
The Magpies confirmed on Monday that the 27-year-old, whose contract was going to expire next summer, has extended his stay by another year.
Krafth joined Newcastle in 2019 and he will now embark on this exciting project the club are going down under their new Saudi-led ownership.
A player of great versatile skills, who can play at fullback and in central defence, he wasn’t a regular last season and probably won’t be again ahead of the new campaign.
But he will add quality and numbers to Eddie Howe’s squad, who will be pushing for a minimum top ten finish next season and a possible trophy.
Nonetheless, when Krafth expressed his delight at his new deal on his IG, Sean Longstaff wrote in the comments section ‘love it you’, whilst Bruno Guimaraes reacted with clapping emojis.
CAN NEWCASTLE WIN A TROPHY NEXT SEASON?
Challenging at the top of the Premier League table and becoming Champions League regulars is a long-term aim of the club – and it will take time to reach.
But, with the investment that is now being pumped into St James’ Park, those fans will want their long-awaited trophy drought to end.
This forthcoming season is ideal for Newcastle to either win the League Cup or the FA Cup and for these players to write their names into history.
The Toon Army faithful will be delighted by how the second half of the season panned out – a complete contrast to the first – and they will be hoping to use that fuel to boost their chances of winning a trophy.
Just making that trip to Wembley would be enough to lift the whole of Newcastle because it has been a long, long time since they even made just that trip.
