Liverpool continue to be linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic.
Liverpool’s links to Christian Pulisic have been a long-running saga spanning many years, and the situation right now doesn’t appear any clearer.
It’s not a huge shock; Pulisic joined Dortmund under now Liverpool-boss Jurgen Klopp, and the German attempted a reunion in 2016 with a bid of £11million according to The Telegraph.
No move materialised, but as Pulisic is something of a Klopp favourite, Liverpool have continued to be linked with a move for the American talent.
Now, The Mirror report that Liverpool have submitted a £45million bid to sign Pulisic in January, with Klopp keen on reinforcements despite Liverpool sitting top of the Premier League table.
There are somewhat conflicting reports out there though, as ESPN claim that the Reds have backed away from the race entirely and aren’t at all interested in signing Pulisic next month as they have no plans to make any January signings.
Intriguingly, Bild now add that Pulisic has agreed terms with Chelsea instead, and is set for a move to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
Whether Liverpool would be tempted back into the race for Pulisic with a move to a Premier League rival being so close remains to be seen, but it currently looks like Klopp will be facing Pulisic rather than managing him.
