Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have missed out on Ollie Watkins and a move to Bayern Munich has been played down.

Watkins has been one of the top Premier League players in 2023.

The Aston Villa hitman has been on fire under Unai Emery and has now bagged 14 goals and six assists this season.

Watkins may now be on a three-game run without a goal but he has been terrorising defences since the turn of the year.

Villa have been pushing for Watkins to sign a new contract of late and a deal is thought to be close.

TEAMtalk reported earlier this month that Watkins has snubbed interest from Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle United.

Watkins instead wants to stay at Villa Park and is ready to commit his future to the club with a new deal.

That isn’t exactly stopping rumours though and there has been some surprising speculation today.

Ollie Watkins linked with Bayern Munich

The Mirror dropped a shock report on Saturday night, claiming that Bayern have been watching Watkins.

The Bundesliga giants are desperate for a new striker this summer and a deal for Harry Kane looks tricky.

Bayern allegedly watched Watkins against Fulham in midweek ahead of a potential summer bid.

That would be a real shock move for Watkins but it has already been played down.

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg claims that Bayern are not interested in Watkins at all.

Plettenberg claims that whilst Bayern do want a new striker, they want Victor Osimhen or Randal Kolo Muani.

Bayern haven’t yet replaced Robert Lewandowski and are desperate to land a new hitman.

That seemingly won’t be Watkins though with Plettenberg one of the most reliable sources in Germany.

Villa can seemingly rest easy and don’t need to worry about Watkins heading to Germany, with a new deal surely imminent now.
