The Hammers welcome the Reds to the London Stadium today in the 17:30 kick-off in the Premier League, and both sides need all three points for very different reasons.
Slaven Bilic would have been seething with his team last time out, when they surrendered a 2-0 half-time lead away at Crystal Palace, eventually drawing the game 2-2.
Jürgen Klopp will be the happier of the two managers, after his side dispatched Huddersfield Town with relative ease last weekend, before comfortably beating Maribor in the Champions League on Wednesday night, but all is not well on Merseyside.
Liverpool currently sit 12 points adrift of league leaders Manchester City, and if they expect to mount a challenge for the Premier League title, they can ill-afford too many more slip-ups.
Both sides are set to be without many of their key players, with the likes of Pablo Zabaleta, Jose Fonte and Michail Antonio unavailable for the east London outfit, whilst the Merseysiders will have to make do without Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana.
