Confirmed Tottenham v Leicester lineups: Dembele starts, Lamela not in the squad

Tottenham Hotspur host Leicester City at White Hart Lane in this afternoon’s Premier League clash.

Spurs head into the game having lost 2-1 to Liverpool in their midweek EFL Cup tie, and drew three games in a row before that, scoring just once in those three games.

Mauricio Pochettino will be desperate to see his side get back to winning ways today, and there are some surprises in his team selection this afternoon.

Moussa Dembele starts in the heart of midfield with Victor Wanyama, meaning Eric Dier continues at centre back in the absence of Toby Alderweireld.

Vincent Janssen starts up front having scored against Liverpool in midweek, and he’ll be searching for his first Premier League goal with supply from Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Heung-min Son.

There is surprisingly no place in the squad for Erik Lamela, meaning Georges-Kevin Nkoudou is on the bench alongside the likes of Ben Davies, Josh Onomah and Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Meanwhile, Leicester City are looking to kickstart their Premier League campaign having beaten Crystal Palace 3-1 at the King Power Stadium last weekend.

The Foxes may focus on their midweek Champions League game – as they have so far this season – but Claudio Ranieri has named an attack-minded line-up this afternoon.

Riyad Mahrez, Ahmed Musa, Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki all start, with Andy King and Danny Drinkwater starting in central midfield.

There is no place in the squad for Islam Slimani, with the likes of Leonardo Ulloa, Demarai Gray and Daniel Amartey named on the bench.
