While Tottenham Hotspur’s senior stars are preparing to kick off their Champions League campaign with a match against AS Monaco this evening, the club’s next generation have a game of their own against the same opponents.
Spurs’ participation in Europe’s elite club competition means they have also been entered into the UEFA Youth League and their first match is this afternoon at the club’s training centre.
Among the Tottenham players on show is 17-year-old midfielder Marcus Edwards, who has been generating a buzz at White Hart Lane for a few years now and who finally got a chance with the first-team during pre-season.
He did not disappoint, and while he has a way to go before he is playing regular competitive football for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, this is another chance for him and his young teammates to impress.
Also on show for Tottenham today are exciting defender Kyle Walker-Peters, striker Shayon Harrison and midfielder Tashan Oakley-Boothe.
