Here is how Tottenham Hotspur and Hull City will line-up for this afternoon’s match at White Hart Lane:
Tottenham starting XI: Lloris, Walker, Chiriches, Dawson, Vertonghen, Paulinho, Sandro, Townsend, Holtby, Lennon, Soldado
Subs: Friedel, Lamela, Naughton, Defoe, Dembele, Sigurdsson, Eriksen
Hull City starting XI: Harper, Rosenior, Figueroa, Bruce, Davies, McShane, Elmohamady, Huddleston, Meyler, Boyd, Sagbo
Subs: Jakupovic, Quinn, Brady, Koren, Gedo, Proschwitz, McLean
A win for Tottenham this afternoon could take them to third in the Premier League table, depending on the result between Chelsea and Manchester City.
Andre Villas-Boas can call on a number of players rested for last week’s Europa League match against Sheriff Tiraspol – including Kyle Walker, Paulinho and Andros Townsend; while Hull City are without Allan McGregor and Danny Graham through injury, and Jake Livermore, who cannot play against his parent-club.
The Tigers have only won on one previous occasion at White Hart Lane, and have won just six of their 24 meetings in the past. And given their away form – just one away win in their last 28 top flight matches – Spurs will be quietly confident.
But Steve Bruce will be planning a surprise or two, with Tom Huddlestone desperate to impress against his former club.
What do you think today’s result will be?
