Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to return to winning ways this afternoon when they take on Cardiff City at home in the Premier League.

Spurs will head into the match against Cardiff at the Wembley Stadium in London on the back of a 4-2 defeat to Barcelona at home in Champions League Group B.

The North London outfit won last weekend, though, as they got the better of Huddersfield Town 2-0 away from home in the Premier League.

With Cardiff struggling at the moment, Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be confident of picking up all three points from the encounter.

Meanwhile, Tottenham manager Pochettino has defended goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

The 31-year-old France international goalkeeper has not been in great form in recent weeks and made mistakes against Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday – a game which the North London outfit lost 4-2.

Pochettino told Football.London about Lloris when asked if he is confident about him being his first-choice goalkeeper: “No doubt. Who made the mistake? The first every day is me. Everyone can make a mistake.

“The reaction was fantastic and the performance was good, of course we lose the game but I think there’s no doubt about Hugo.

“He is one of the best goalkeepers in the world. That has not changed. Nothing has changed in my mind, how I think about him.”
