Here are the Sunderland and Spurs teams for the under-21 clash this evening.
Sunderland under-21s: Dixon, Cartwright, Robson, Oliver, McNamee, Ferguson, Watmore, Agnew, Mavrias, Lawson, Cabral
Tottenham Hotspur under-21s: McGee; Carter-Vickers, Ball, Veljkovic, McQueen; Lameiras, Mason, Winks; Sonupe, Akindayini; Miller
Sunderland go into this game looking to react to a heavy defeat at the hands of Manchester United in their last match.
Sunderland’s youngsters badly need a win to start climbing the table and they need the defence to fire, which has so far struggled with just a single goal from all games to date.
For Tottenham it’s a different story.
It’s a little hard to judge this Spurs side but they have two wins from two games with five goals scored and just three conceded. They have games in hand on most of their rivals and can go joint level on points with Chelsea at the top of the table.
The last time Spurs played was on September 12 so there’s a chance they could be a little rusty and that’s something that Sunderland will try to take advantage of over the course of the game.
