Sunderland take on Burton Albion in League One this evening.

Sunderland starting XI: McLaughlin; O’Nien, Baldwin, Flanagan, Oviedo; Honeyman, Leadbitter, McGeouch, Morgan; Wyke, Grigg.

Sunderland substitutes: Ruiter, Hume, Dunne, Ozturk, Power, Sterling, Kimpioka.

Sunderland are back in action tonight as they host Burton Albion at the Stadium of Light, with Jack Ross and co looking to push for automatic promotion.

Burton did Sunderland a huge favour by beating Barnsley over the weekend, but the Black Cats must now beat the Brewers themselves to take full advantage.

Jon McLaughlin starts in goal against former club Burton, with Luke O’Nien, Jack Baldwin, Tom Flanagan and Bryan Oviedo featuring in the back four ahead of him.

Grant Leadbitter joins Dylan McGeouch in the heart of midfield, with Lewis Morgan and George Honeyman starting out wide, given that Aiden McGeady is out for tonight’s game.

Charlie Wyke scored a first league goal since September at Rochdale on Saturday, and is rewarded with a start up top with Will Grigg as Sunderland go with an attack-minded side.

Kazaiah Sterling is on the bench, alongside Robbin Ruiter, Denver Hume, Jimmy Dunne, Alim Ozturk, Max Power and Benjamin Kimpioka.
