Confirmed Stoke v Tottenham lineups: Rose starts, Alderweireld left out

Tottenham Hotspur travel to take on Stoke City this afternoon.

Stoke City will be desperate for points this afternoon as they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the bet365 Stadium, with Paul Lambert’s men in danger of being relegated.

The Potters sit three points adrift of safety and have lost each of their last three games, and today promises to be a tough test for Stoke.

Jack Butland starts in goal as ever, with Glen Johnson, Ryan Shawcross, Bruno Martins Indi and Erik Pieters lining up across the back four in front of the England international.

Badou Ndiaye partners Joe Allen in midfield, with Moritz Bauer, Xherdan Shaqiri and Ramadan Sobhi supporting Mame Biram Diouf in attack.

Ex-Spurs striker Peter Crouch is on the bench, alongside Jakob Haugaard, Geoff Cameron, Kurt Zouma, Darren Fletcher, Stephen Ireland and Tyrese Campbell.

Meanwhile, Spurs virtually cemented a top four place last weekend with a 3-1 win over London rivals Chelsea, and they can edge a step closer to confirming Champions League football with another win today.

Hugo Lloris keeps his place in goal despite question marks over his form of late, with Danny Rose coming into a back four which also contains Serge Aurier, Davinson Sanchez and Jan Vertonghen.

Victor Wanyama comes into the side to partner Mousa Dembele, whilst Christian Eriksen, Son Heung-min and Dele Alli will support lone striker Harry Kane in the final third.

That means that Erik Lamela drops to the bench, alongside Michel Vorm, Eric Dier, Ben Davies, Moussa Sissoko, Lucas Moura and Fernando Llorente, as Toby Alderweireld has been left out of the squad entirely.
