Villa head into the game on the back of a decent run of form that has seen them win five, draw four and lost just one of their last 10 Championship games, and they currently sit in ninth spot in the table.

QPR, meanwhile, have been somewhat of a surprise package this season, and they sit a place and a point above the Villans in the table, having gone unbeaten in their last four league outings.

Dean Smith’s side can climb as high as seventh with a win at Villa Park today, whilst Steve McClaren’s troops can also jump up to one place outside the play-off spots with all three points.

Aston Villa are the Championship’s second highest scorers, so they will be confident of putting at least a couple past Queens Park Rangers today, but the Londoners will be equally as confident of frustrating the west Midlands side.

The game kicks off today at 15:00.
