Tottenham Hotspur host Middlesbrough in the Premier League this evening.
Tottenham Hotspur are back at White Hart Lane this evening as they take on Middlesbrough just days after a 0-0 draw at Sunderland.
After a disappointing performance in the North East, Mauricio Pochettino’s men are back in North London tonight, and they’ll hope to keep the pressure on league leaders Chelsea, who beat Arsenal earlier today.
Pochettino makes two changes to the side that started against Sunderland, as Ben Davies comes in for the injured Danny Rose at left back, whilst Hugo Lloris returns in goal in place of Michel Vorm, having missed out against Sunderland through illness.
That means that Heung-min Son keeps his place and will support Harry Kane in attack along with Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli.
Kevin Wimmer missed out on a starting spot and has to make do with a place on the bench, alongside Harry Winks, Vincent Janssen, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Josh Onomah, Moussa Sissoko and the aforementioned Vorm.
Meanwhile, Middlesbrough are looking for a victory having gone six games without a win, and drew 1-1 with West Bromwich Albion in midweek.
Aitor Karanka’s men are struggling for goals, and have already lost to Spurs this season having been beaten 2-1 earlier this term.
Karanka hands a return to on-loan Arsenal defender Calum Chambers having been out through injury, and he joins Fabio, Bernardo and Ben Gibson in defence.
Adam Clayton, Adam Forshaw and Marten de Roon all start in midfield, whilst Stewart Downing and Adama Traore support Alvaro Negredo in attack.
Recent signings Rudy Gestede, Adlene Guedioura and Patrick Bamford are all on the Boro bench, along with Cristhian Stuani, Daniel Ayala, Grant Leadbitter and Brad Guzan.
