Southampton take on Manchester United in Premier League action.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho
Southampton will be aiming to end the season as strongly as possible as they host Manchester United tonight. The Saints march into this game in good form, after winning their last game against Middlesbrough 1-2, thanks to goals from Jay Rodriguez and Nathan Redmond.
However, all has not been well at the St Mary’s this season. After the massive progressive made under Mauricio Pochettino and Ronald Koeman, Southampton fans have been disappointed to see the club stagnate somewhat under new boss, Claude Puel, and doubts now remain over his future at the club. Will a positive finish convince fans he’s the right man for them?
With all hope of reaching the top four now gone, Manchester United are focusing on that all important Europa League final. Jose Mourinho has already admitted that their priority is now securing a place in the Champions League, and Southampton may look to take advantage of a potentially weakened side.
The Red Devils go into this game without a league win in their last two games, after being beaten by both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. With Southampton keen to finish the season as strongly as possible, Claude Puel’s side will be keen to take advantage of Jose Mourinho’s apathy for the end of this season.
