Liverpool are back in action this evening as they host Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

This is Liverpool’s first home game of the new season and Jurgen Klopp will be desperate for a victory.

Liverpool could only manage a 2-2 draw against Fulham on the opening weekend of the season and will be looking for a win tonight.

Alisson starts in goal tonight but there is a shock at centre back.

Joel Matip is out but whilst Joe Gomez was expected to start, Nathaniel Phillips is given the nod alongside Virgil van Dijk at centre back.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson are the full backs with Fabinho in front of the back four.

James Milner and Harvey Elliott both feature in midfield with Thiago missing through injury.

The big news surrounds Darwin Nunez as the Uruguayan striker is given a first Premier League start, leading the attack with support from Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz.

Roberto Firmino isn’t even on the bench with Liverpool claiming that he is out as a ‘precaution’.

Youngsters Bobby Clark, Stefan Bajcetic and Sepp van den Berg are all on the bench, joining Adrian San Miguel, Joe Gomez, Naby Keita, Kostas Tsimikas, Jordan Henderson and Fabio Carvalho.

Crystal Palace go with Vicente Guaita in goal and Patrick Vieira is now going with a back five tonight.

Nathaniel Clyne and Tyrick Mitchell are the wing backs with Joel Ward, Joachim Andersen and Marc Guehi as the three centre backs.

Cheick Doucoure joins Eberechi Eze and Jeffrey Schlupp în midfield, with Wilfried Zaha and Jordan Ayew up top.

Palace opened their season with a 2-0 home defeat to Arsenal and will be hoping to spring a shock tonight.

Vieira certainly has firepower on the bench with Malcolm Ebiowei, Michael Olise, Luke Plange, Odsonne Edouard and Jean-Philippe Mateta all involved.

Sam Johnstone, Chris Richards, Luka Milivojevic and Will Hughes make up the rest of the Palace substitutes tonight.
