The Brazilian has made a move to the newly promoted side, despite previous Leeds interest.
One reported Leeds United transfer target from the summer has gone elsewhere, as Brazilian left-winger Raphael Martinho has finalised a move to newly promoted Serie A side Carpi.
The club announced the signing of their new player on their official website yesterday, confirming he had signed a three-year deal with the side.
The 27-year-old was recently linked with a move to Leeds by The Yorkshire Evening Post. They claimed that Leeds owner Massimo Cellino was a big fan of the player, who could fill the problem left-wing position at Elland Road.
However they also claimed that a passport issue made a deal unlikely.
Indeed the same publication reported late last week that Leeds had in fact given up on the player. They claimed that Martinho had been discussed but no pursuit would be made as it was deemed futile.
Leeds United are still believed to be in the hunt for a left-sided midfielder to complete their squad for the upcoming season.
Leeds have previously had good fortune in the Italian market but in this case they have missed the boat.
Martinho will now be hoping to help Carpi stay up in the Italian top-flight.
